Having won the toss and stuck them in we managed to get an early breakthrough courtesy of Amjid, a further wicket followed soon after however the runs were flowing and we were going at 5 an over eg 75 off the first 15. Thankfully, some good catching kept us in the game and as the wickets fell the run rate slowed. 9th wicket fell with DAFS on 139 off 35. An unbroken 10th wicket stand took DAFS to 162 off the 45. 42 of the runs (25% approx for those that can't do maths) were extras, which is disappointing and contributed to our defeat. However, the fielding display was very good by all. Special mention to James Pope who bowled as well as anybody has seen him do so at the Cross, and from both ends, even taking a catch to boot, albeit off his own bowling!
Amjid, 1 for 37 off 9
Zeeshan, 1 for 36 off 9
Andy Robertson 0 for 36 off 9
Gerry 3 for 24 off 9
Pope 4 for 13 off 9
A disappointing tea followed - please note that tea for 2 means exactly that! You don't just bring your own or nothing, you bring enought for 2 people. For those that don't contribute, well you can just go hungry next time!
Our innings got off to a reasonable start, posting 84 for 2 off the first 25 overs. The runs then dried up and the usual collapse then followed, with us being all out in the 38th over 30 runs short.
Paul Bailey made a good 42. Shifty, Amjid and skip all contributing 15 each - i.e. not enough! Andrew Robertson made a useful 10, including a lovely back foot punched drive through mid off. They gave away 17 extras!

I find this slander about my catching very harsh!!!! I am a very solid fielder with good hands, just as long as i am not asked to catch the ball at Cow!!!!!
