Presidents Cup Final (At Penicuik CC)
Holy Cross 110ao
(R. Bainbridge 23, C.Ellis 20, S. Malik 17, J. Bates 14)
Boorman 3/19
Brookes 3/33
Sands 2/9.
Watsonians 2nd XI 114-o off 22.3 overs.
(K. Flannigan 56*, Fox 54*)
Not much more to say: we were at least 70 runs short of a competitive total...
Thanks to those who turned up to support; just sorry it was such a
poor effort (though Watsonians did bowl well and there was some dampness in the pitch following rain in the days prior).

Worth adding our thanks to Sandy Scotland and Jim Brimms for umpiring and to Penicuik CC for their hospitality.
ReplyDeleteIf you are a masochist and want to watch our innings try this link. Youtube compress the settings so much, the quality is not good. Better on a DVD.

We didn't play well, but Watsonians certainly did. In fact, they made it look easy - a case of "Elementary, my dear Watsonians" ?
ReplyDeleteMr Admin,
ReplyDeleteit wouldn't take Sherlock Holmes more than half a pipe to tell us that our batting was rather feeble.
