AGM Highlights

Well, there was no need to scrutinise the ballot papers for hanging or dimpled chads. But here's what did happen amidst the chattering of teeth -
  • Keith Fraser stepped down as 1st XI vice-captain after seven highly successful years as either captain or vice-captain. Simon Pickering will take over, although we're not sure anyone's told Si yet.
  • Colin McGill is the new 3rd XI vice-captain.
  • We are going to look into holding a 60th anniversary dinner just after the season ends in early September. Any old Crossers reading this who'd like to be kept in touch with developments, please comment below or contact us at secretary@holycrosscricket.co.uk
  • Scotty is updating Hugh's computerised records. If anyone has 2nd or 3rd XI scorebooks covering 2003-6, please let him know.
  • A constitutional mystery was solved as we finally learned why we have a Vice President. Apparently he's there to calm things down when the President goes off on one. Nicely done, Mr Din.

  1. How dare you describe oratory worthy of Cicero or Churchill as "going off on one"?

History will not be kind to my critics.

er...yes...but the Pres has asked us to 'revise'
our 1st draft. For instance his famous innings vs Leith certainly deserves a mention but perhaps not the 10,000 words and 40 full page illustrations (in a socialist realist style) he believes it merits.
