Holy Cross (20pts) 238ao, C Ellis 124, M Patel 61, R Boyapati 3 for 55
beat
Boroughmuir (10pts) 150ao, S McGrath 67

A 111 run partnership (club record? - club stattos will check) for the 8th wicket between the returning Manon and cje was the basis of the above-par total; rescuing us from 104-7. We completed a satisfying victory via a controlled bowling and fielding display.

  1. Well done EC, Chucky on your ton (where was the jug tonight?) and the boys. Delighted to hear that Manon played and contributed - welcome back, all be it briefly.

  2. The 111 partnership breaks a 40 year record of 103 for the 8th wicket between Gerry McManus, a stalwart of the rugby club, who scored his only 50 with Kenny Brown (53*) whom I don't know. The match was played at Arbo and was technically a friendly match as the club were not in the main leagues, but in the grades. HX scored 183-7 - Leith F scored 70 (Kenny Brown 6-9 - both his 53 and 6-9 were his personal best)

The best 8th wicket partnership in the league (72) was in 1994 against Kircaldy, made by JDR and MR (Dougie and Shifty).

So well done Charlie for breaking yet another partnership record - he and Euan scored 193 for the 2nd wicket after your truly was dismissed for a blob v Dundee HS. But like yesterday I was there, as I was for the previous best (174) at Castings involving Dennis Cartwright. Charlie also seems to have another record breaking partnership with Euan and one with Keith, but I don't have details.
