Holy Cross dressers wanted for Halloween Rugby Ball

Attention all Crossers!  A word from our colleagues at the Rugby Club:

 

"Ok so it's that time of year that ghosts and ghouls come out to play, the lost souls return and we at Inverleith would like to welcome back our house band Not Dead Yet to play!

They play a wide range of covers, with lots of modern and classic soul and pop, funk, rock and more music to dance to and sing along!

Being it's Halloween week and with the effort some went to for costumes for the last time, we'll have a Monster Ball theme, so grab your old bedsheets, think of your favourite Monster or horror char...

Cover charge is a mere £5, for what's bound to be a cracking nite as always! It's been a while since Not Dead Yet played so let's give them a great Inverleith welcome home!

Kiwi Whine house as England go Back to Black

With the Rugby World Cup only a month away, there has been controversy from the England camp who have unveiled their new 'All Black' shirt which gets it's first outing against Wales this weekend.

This has stirred the people of New Zealand, including legend Jonah Lomu who has accused England of being 'disrespectful' to the World Cup hosts and Holy Cross legend Dougie 'Heketoro' Russell who can be seen here at the Activcity Finals day practising his very own Haka.

Broonster's Broughton head to Arbo!

Broonster's Broughton head to Arbo to take on Inverleith on Saturday 9th October (3pm kick-off).

Why not head down for a catch up and a beer and sample the tranquil ambience of grass roots rugby at it's erm, finest!

A great opportunity to also forge further links with the rugby club and get out the house on a Saturday!

1st XI Edge Roseburn Thriller

Though failing to reproduce the tight bowling and fielding performance of the previous week, the 1st XI began their East League campaign with a victory against Mufs at Roseburn (on a pitch already showing signs of improvement - having been rolled for the first time in a decade).

We made 189-6, failing to fully capitalise on a superb opening partnership between Simon and Calum but giving us a good total. We should perhaps have defended it more easily after taking early wickets but Mufs' lower order batted with skill and determination.

A super game of cricket-with a good atmosphere created by the Rugby League supporters. Game interrupted for about 40 mins when some local youths stole 2 of the stumps while we were having drinks (1 stump retrieved by chasers)..
