and some good umpiring too!

  1. I have bowled a delivery like that, at Peffermill vs Aberdeen a couple of years ago. The bail jumped up and got stuck on the edge of the groove.

I was appealing for caught behind but the umpire could see the moved bail and said not out. Couldn't believe it!

Popestar, that's nothing-I'm sure one HX bowler did that 3 times in the same over in the mid-70s.

btw, when you say 'I have bowled a delivery like that', was yours also bowled at 85-90 mph??

  3. At Peffermill, Steyn would only match my pace when bowling into the wind up the hill as I was that day (It was pitch 2)

But no, it wasn't 85mph, a wee bit less

  4. I love seeing teams on the field going crazy because they know the man is out and the umpire has made a shocking call, only for replays to show the umpire has made an astoundingly good call. Every SA player should be forced into a grovelling apology at the feet of this great ump. Umpiring is shhhht enough without players with such a vested interest in the decision acting like these childish Saffers.

PS: I've never seen an umpire make an incorrect decision honest...
