I believe that the number of pilgrims attending Papa's visit this time is drastically lower than on previous occasions. Is Pope less popular now than he used to be, has society changed for the better or worse, have murky allegations about his private life harmed his image (preference for Bimbo's?) or is his visit ill-timed falling as it does during the close season when worshippers are away doing other things for 8 months?
